Save a "butt"- load on swim diapers!

As we all know, swim diapers can get very pricey. I mean, who can afford to pay 10 dollars for a pack of 12 diapers? Thats almost a dollar a diaper... and at the rate our babies are swimming in the summer(well, at least mine!),that is absolutely ridiculous.

Well, I have GREAT news! I have 2 really good options for your swimming needs this summer!

1) You can actually use disposable swim diapers 2-3 times each! (That is, a non-poopy swim diaper). After baby has gone swimming, if the diaper has not been pooped in, you can just wash it with your swimsuits/towels in your washing machine on a gentle cycle! Let the swim diaper AIR DRY, and you are good for another go around! From the reading I have done, you can use each swim diaper 2 or 3 times before it starts to fall apart. Obviously, the poopy diapers are a no go for a re-use, I think we can all afford to get rid of those. :)

2)This summer I bought a reusable swim diaper from iplay for {B}. This is also an awesome option because you never have to throw it away, you can reuse it over and over and over again! I have loved this option with {B}, it fits him really well, and havent had any leaking problems or anything! You can find these on Amazon for about 10 dollars. They are so worth it, and that is the same price as 12 disposable diapers!

What about YOU? Do you dispose or reuse? Which brand/brands are your favorite? Any diaper tips you want to share with us?

Happy swimming!

  1. I use reusable swim diapers. I have a few Happy Heiny brand Pocket Diapers that their site said works as a swim diaper when used w/out the insert so I do that and put her bathing suit bottom over it. I also bought a Charlie Banana swim diaper we use also.

  6. Thank you for stopping by my blog (http://withlovechrancy.blogspot.com) and following me.

The reusable swim diapers seems reasonable to buy and reuse again but then again my husband would probably prefer the disposables one if there were to be a poopy wet diaper, lol.

  9. Thanks for stopping by and following. Following back. We use cloth swim diapers. Never even considered disposables since we use cloth diapers. Last year we used a Flap Happy swim diaper but this year I'm just using old BumGenius pocket diapers as swim diapers. So far, so good.

  11. I learned about reusing swim diapers last year on someone's blog, I've done it many times. Yes about 2-3 times and then it breaks down.

I have a reusable one too but I don't find it works. If they peed and you pick them up and sit them on your hip or arm or whatever, the pee all comes out. Maybe it's just not a good brand or something. However they don't make disposable swim diapers small enough. The small is for 16lbs+. What about smaller babies??

  13. You can seriously wash disposable swim diapers? I had no idea. I think I'm going to start doing that. I was also thinking of getting one of the iPlay swim dipes. Glad to hear you like it.

  14. wow, friends! thanks for all of your input! For those who asked if REALLY you can use them again and again, it is TRUE!

Callista- for the smaller babies, I'm not sure if there IS anything out there that is that small? When we would take {B} swimming that young, we just used a regular old diaper and trashed it when we were done, since it was the size of a watermelon after!
