5 valentines day crafts!

So, as my first official "real post" I wanted to do something fun for the upcoming holiday, and something that would be worth reading about! So Im going to post 5 of my favorite Valentine's craft tutorials that you can do at home, that wont break the bank, and that are ADORABLE! Hope you like them! Click on the links for the complete tutorials.

These little blocks are my favorite! I am actually doing them tomorrow morning so I will definitely let you know how it goes! Brown Paper Packages is an adorable blog with tons and tons of different craft tutorials. Just a side note- I bought the wood at Home depot and it only cost me $1.09 for 4 blocks ( she only has 3 pictured but im adding one other with XOXO). If you go to Michaels or AC Moore those blocks will cost you 5 bucks each. Totally worth going into Home Depot ( even if it means looking clueless wandering around the wood section...just ask a guy to cut you some 4x4x4 wood blocks!)

These are SO cute and fun, especially if you have kids that are a little bit older. I definitely plan on doing this when I get a few more kiddos under the roof. The main idea of this craft is a countdown to V-day. Every day starting on the 1st of Feb., mommy puts a heart shaped note into each of the kids buckets. You can also randomly put in a treat or small gift ( dollar store!) or a note with a fun activity planned for the day. You can also have the kids write cute notes to each other! Its like their own personal mail boxes! SO fun.

3) Valentine Hand Print Canvas

Ok this project melts my heart! Clean & Scentsible has this tutorial on their blog and I love it. It is perfect if you have a little Valentine of your own. She says that she does it every year so that she can preserve her little one's hand prints. I LOVE the idea.

4) Heart Felt Wreath

So I love everything about this wreath! Simple, cute, and inexpensive. 3 of my most favorite things! :) The Idea Room blog has the great tutorial for this one. My friend Ashley actually made this one and hers turned out so great! Im jealous and will be making mine soon!

Here is another variation of the wreath, only its solid instead of cut out. Love them BOTH!

5) Newspaper heart blocks

These heart blocks are super cute and really easy as well! Again, get your wood cut at Home Depot. I love the vintage look of these blocks! You could actually use these year round... they dont scream February to me.

Hope you like these ideas as much as I did! And if you do end up making any of these, take pictures and leave your link in the comments section! Happy {heart} day everyone.

By way of Introduction...

Hi! Allow me to introduce myself...my name is Ali. I am 26 years old and currently living in beautiful Chapel Hill, North Carolina!

I am a mommy to a baby boy {B} who has me wrapped around his teenie tiny finger, and happily married to the love of my life, mr. Joshua Brent who is currently a third year medical student at UNC...studying to be a surgeon...who cannot even get a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel. But I am so proud of him! Seven years ago this year, when he walked into the same room as me, I knew I wanted him in my life. Somehow I convinced him to want me back.

I am a Salt Lake City, Utah native who loves shopping, couponing (yes, that is now a term used frequently these days, especially in our house), reading, crafting (when B allows me to) and... cadbury mini-eggs. I love learning new things about being a mom, and I hope that n.c. baby blog can be a place where moms and mommies in training can get together and do just that! Please feel free to add your mommy flair to any post, and please dont be afraid to tell me what you want to hear about!

n.c. baby blog!

Welcome to n.c. baby blog! I am so excited to finally get this up and running! Things are still being finalized and finished so please excuse any chaos you might see! When I got the idea for n.c. baby blog, I thought it would be fun to have a place for moms ( or mommies in training!) to read and become involved in a variety of posts related to all things mommy- babies, fashion, home-making, beauty, crafting, shopping, and everyday life learning. From time to time I hope to review products as well as host giveaways ( which we all love!). Please dont feel like you have to be from n.c. to enjoy this blog...im just an n.c. mommy who wants you all to be involved, so please feel free to leave comments and feedback! Spread the word, and come back soon for my first "real" post!

Hoo ARE You?

NightOwlCrafting

I decided to do this little get to know you questionnare! Kind of fun!

1) Are you married/ in a relationship?

Yes! Been married for 3 and a half wonderful years.

2) What do you do for a living? Do you enjoy it?

Currently I am lucky to be a stay at home momma! How could you not love staying at home with a little man as cute as mine! I am also a dental hygienist, but havent worked since having {B}. I miss the people interaction and the feeling performing a good teeth cleaning, but wouldn't trade my current "job" for the world.

3) In what state do you live? Where were you born and raised?

We are currently living in North Carolina, and we love it here. I was born in Illinois, but raised in Salt Lake City Utah. I miss Utah and hope to be back there in the future!

4) Do you have children? If so, how many?

Yes! One 9 and a half month old baby boy, {B}. He is my everything.

5)Who is your favorite blogger to follow, and why?

I have a ton of favorites, but I would have to say Hip2Save is my all time favorite! Her deals are unbelievable! :)
