GIANTMicrobes: Review & Giveaway

When I first read of GIANTMicrobes, I had no idea that only a few minutes later I would be wishing that I had the flu, the kissing disease, or Giardia! GIANTMicrobes are small, stuffed animals that are made to look like like tiny microbes- only a million times their actual size! Each GIANTmicrobe comes with an image and information about the real microbe it represents. They make great learning tools, as well as amusing gifts for anyone with a sense of humor. I mean, how could you NOT want a Stomache Ache after seeing that frilly little face! :)



As some of you might know, my hubby is in his 4th year of med school, pursuing a career in Orthopedic surgery. When GIANTMicrobes told me that I could review one of two of their new microbes, either the skin cell, or the bone cell, I knew exactly what I had to get for my BONEMD2BE. Insert- the Osteocyte.


When Mr. Bone Cell arrived at our house, of course my little man was all over it and immediately took off running with his new friend. When my hubs got home from school, and I introduced him to the bone cell GIANTMicrobe, he about died. It was love at first sight. Ok, let's not be too dramatic. He actually really liked it and thought it was super funny, and even said "hey, if I ever have an office of my own one day, that will look great next to my Surgery License." Too funny.


GIANTMicrobes are both silly, yet educational. It is a great way to teach kids about different types of bacteria, all while letting them have a good time. I would definitely recommend these as a great, educational fun toy for any age.
